Tangent and Cortech, a market leader in behavioral health furniture, recently partnered to develop the Summit series, a complete furniture line that features a creative blend of residential styling and roto-molded safety for behavioral health and other secure settings.

For this series of furniture, the Tangent team took inspiration from natural, organic forms, creating pieces with soft silhouettes, rounded edges and graceful, swooping lines. Unique to the Summit line is the use of the optional Veldura soft-touch finish, which gives each piece the tactile touch of velvet with the built-in durability of molded polyethylene.
The Summit series’ organic, residential inspired design, allows for uses in settings such as patient rooms, group areas, day rooms and visitor spaces, while the soft forms assist uses in more therapeutic environments. The single piece, anti-ligature construction ensures safety, durability and ease of maintenance in any given setting.

Tangent assisted Cortech in the 2D design & 3D development of each piece, working closely with their chosen roto-molding supplier to develop tools & texture breaks for each part. Additional work was done via 3D visualization software VRED, which was used to create color ways and marketing materials for Cortech.
The Summit Series is on sale now via Cortech’s website.
