CORTECH SAFEBIN

Cortech SafeBin Durable & Secure. Tangent and Cortech, a market leader in behavioral health furniture, recently partnered to develop the Cortech SafeBin, a unique disposal solution for behavioral health environments that combines industry leading safety features with durable roto-molded composite parts. Safety First. The Tangent design team faced a unique set of challenges with the development of the SafeBin, namely, how could we design a largely compact waste bin that still managed to secure the bag liner (a major safety hazard), while keeping the design user friendly and easy to clean?Tangent’s solution was to design a two-part roto molded tool, where the top shoot would both secure the bag liner, and provide adequate depth to the part, preventing users from accessing the bag or its contents. A co-molded lockable door allows for maintenance and bag access while keeping the unit secure, and a sloped and ribbed inner surface ensures rigidity and easy drainage during...
