HARLEY DAVIDSON x TUSCANY MOTOR CO. Harley returns to four wheels. Tangent together with iconic motorcycle manufacturer Harley Davidson and premium truck up-fitter Tuscany Motor Co., teamed up to develop the 2019 Harley Davidson Ford F150. Tangent’s responsibilities included the design and development of over 70 proprietary parts, as well the creation of marketing material, and project coordination between Harley and Tuscany Motor Co. Inspired by Harley’s rich heritage, as well as the iconic HD F150’s of the past, Tangent was tasked with the development of a multitude of custom parts, meant to set the 2019 HD F-150 apart from the pack.  These parts include 22-inch aluminum wheels inspired by Harley’s “Fat Boy” motorcycle, an all-new painted grill with orange Harley accents, lighted running board, fender vents with orange piping and HD logos, a new front bumper with custom skid plate, and a functional ram-air hood with unique venting, to name just a...

Duo Form Pet B&B Bed & Bark-fast. Tangent recently partnered with Duo Form Plastics, an industry leading thermoform manufacturer, to design, develop and model the Duo Form Go Pet B&B (Bed & Breakfast), a first of its kind portable pet bed, with built-in storage compartments and removable food & water dishes. Blue-9 Propel Air Platform An air platform for Air Bud. Tangent recently partnered with Blue-9 Pet Products, an industry leader in dog training equipment, to design, develop and model the Blue-9 Propel Air Platfrom, a connective inflatable training platform with molded in guidelines for all forms of training and fitness.Beginning with extensive benchmarking, Tangent was careful to ensure that the Propel Air Platform would work in conjunction with other Blue-9 products, including the Tangent designed Blue-9 Klimb Platform. Utilizing a combination of blow molded and compression molded plastic, the platform incorporates a double-sided tread pattern that differs on each side, allowing for flexibility in training methods, and dog size. EMERY ONE eBIKE The world’s first 3D-printed eBike The Emery ONE was developed by a collaboration of Franco Bicycles, Arevo, and Bosch and is intended to disrupt the way bicycles are traditionally manufactured via 3D printing.   “We were drawn to Arevo’s 3D printing process for the ability to quickly iterate and prove out concepts during product development, the onshoring of manufacturing to California, and the increased speed with which we can bring products to market,” says Hector Rodriguez, co-founder and CEO of Franco Bicycles and Emery. “But while all those benefits matter, the most important benefit is that the bike performs at a world-class level. Isthmus Engineering & Manufacturing, a leading provider of automation machines and systems, tasked Tangent with re-thinking an existing pallet solution that had outgrown their client’s needs.Tangent decided to take advantage of rotational molding’s unique combination of durability and cost-effective manufacturing methods, to create a pallet that can hold the desired number of product units while maintaining the old pallet’s original footprint. Tangent’s roto-molding solution allows for a more robust structure that can be stacked in a vertical, self-supporting orientation, minimizing the need for additional equipment and hardware.
